Mark Elliott Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, the most popular social networking site, is building a new city near Silicon Valley headquarters, where Facebook employees will take up residence.
According to foreign media news, Mark Zuckerberg is now going to build a city, Facebook employees who decide to stay there will not be able to leave the job. The social network Facebook, which has 2.9 billion users, will now become a real-life community.
The community will be built on 59 acres of land in Menlo Park, California, under the name Willow Park. In addition, the city of Facebook residents will have 1729 apartments, of which about 320 units will be available at a reasonable price.
The housing units will not only be for Facebook employees but anyone will be able to buy a house here, however, the most expensive units will probably be bought by Facebook employees.
Facebook City will have supermarkets, pharmacies, cafes, restaurants and 193-room hotels, a 4-acre public park separate from Town Square and a 2-acre park on New York City’s High Line. It will be park style.
Facebook also plans to build a new office, meeting and conference room on 1.25 million square feet, with 3,400 new employees after the new office is built.
The company had offered its staff several years ago that they would be paid a maximum if they lived within 10 miles of the office.
